Nature Explore Workshops provide strategies and tools to help educators create effective outdoor learning experiences.

Involving parent volunteers is one way to increase awareness of the important role that nature plays in the lives of young children.

Standard 2: Staff Development

Your application will request that you tell us the name and position of at least one staff member per site who has attended a full-day Nature Explore Workshop. For renewal, we will ask you tell us about annual staff development relating to nature education.

Standard 3: Family Involvement

When you apply for certification, we will ask you to provide a brief description of activities you have conducted to increase family awareness and ongoing involvement in the Nature Explore Classroom and nature education for young children. Examples could include holding an open house, sending flyers home, providing Nature Explore Club home memberships, or recruiting parent volunteers. Provide number of families reached, if possible.
