You are invited to enter your own work or nominate the work of others. Previous entries not selected to receive an award may be revised and resubmitted in a following year. Award CategoriesJ. Good Steward AwardThis award recognizes land owners or organizations whose creativity, outlook, and accomplishments exemplify wise stewardship practices and sustainability on private land from which others can learn. Arbor Day Celebration AwardThis award honors Arbor Day celebrations that best represent the spirit of the tree planter's holiday. Rachel Carson AwardThis award recognizes programs, individuals or organizations whose exemplary leadership and efforts guide the nurturing of young children’s inborn sense of wonder about the natural world. Champion of Trees Public Service AwardThis award is presented to a government official or employee for demonstrating leadership in advancing forestry public policy at a community, state, or national level. Excellence in Urban Forest Leadership AwardThis award is given to an exceptional individual or organization whose work provides innovative leadership in advancing sustainable community forestry efforts at a local, state, or national level. Forest Lands Leadership AwardThis award is given to an individual or organization whose outstanding work provides leadership in advancing sustainable forestry efforts on public forest land. Award for Excellence in Volunteer ManagementThis award is presented to a community, group, or organization for their outstanding efforts to mobilize and engage volunteers in tree planting and care within a community. Public Awareness of Trees AwardThis award is presented to an organization or individual whose innovative work elevates the public awareness and understanding of the importance of trees. Excellence in Partnership AwardThis award is presented for the innovative, strategic, and/or pioneering collaborative efforts of organizations to advance forestry efforts on a local, state, national, or international level. Award for Education InnovationThis award recognizes innovative education programs that successfully introduce and teach their audience the importance of trees and serves as an inspiration for future environmental stewards. |
