Our U.S. Forest Service Partnership
The Arbor Day Foundation began working with the U.S. Forest Service in the wake of the Yellowstone fires in 1988. Since 1990, we have helped plant
nearly 18 million trees in America's National Forests that have been damaged by fire, insects, and other natural causes.
Record wildfire seasons in recent years, combined with insect infestation and diseases, have contributed to a critical need for replanting in many
national forests around the country.
Yet much of the Forest Service budget for planting trees has been diverted to fighting fires.
That's where we come in...and where you can help.
Nearly 18 million trees have been planted thanks to contributions from members, individuals, organizations, and corporate partners.
How You Can Help.
Some gifts last a lifetime.
Every card you send
plants a tree in our
